Martin Shapiro - Writer/Director

Martin Shapiro wrote, directed, and produced the short horror film Chopper, based on his comic book series. He optioned the movie rights to the comic books and a prequel to Chopper was made into a web TV series starring Tyler Mane (Halloween, X-Men).

Shapiro’s action-thriller Lair of the Fox was sold to Ilya Salkind (Producer of Superman). Shapiro has written and developed projects for HBO and MGM, including an adaptation of Dragonlance, the New York Times bestselling series of fantasy novels.

He received his Master’s Degree in Screenwriting from UCLA and a BA in Film Directing from UCF. While in the program, he won the UCLA Showcase award for his war drama Crossfire.
